Subject: Upgrading Golden Cheetah on Windows
I've been using an old version of Golden Cheetah and would like to upgrade to the latest. Do I need to uninstall the old version or just install the new version over the old? I checked their site and didn't see anything. Anything else I should look out for?

I haven't found it necessary to uninstall the old version. But it's always a good idea to make a copy of your past activities somewhere safe, as long as you have a copy of those activity files it is pretty easy to fix anything that goes wrong. Depending on what version your are upgrading from, your activity files could be in a couple different locations, go to Help-->About Golden Cheetah and it will show you your activity location. Versions 2.x allowed you to specify the activity file location but 3.x does not. The latest version 3.0.1 seem pretty stable, no complaints yet.

Wonderful, thanks! I'm on 2.x right now. I keep all of my original files and Golden Cheetah makes copies of them all so I should be OK with the historical files. I'll give it a shot today and see how it goes.

I read somewhere about "bar ends" to put on your handle bars, do you recommend them? Is this similar to adding clip on aero bars?

The wheels are my first area of concern and I have started to shop around. I find it nauseating to think of spending the same amount for wheels as my bike. Any help?

Bike upgrades to gain speed: better wheelsets, a tri-bike, road bike with aerobars, even getting rid of those love handles before getting that lighter bike.
