3 Weeks until my first sprint and I miss a workout. Emergencies at work, then car trouble, my sweet kid is having his moment, and I miss a workout.I keep telling myself, "its not the day you miss, but the months you didn't". Just feel like I lost a week of training

Relax! Missing one workout is not going to break your race. Trust your months of training and have a good time on race day!

It took a really hard crash and Dr's orders to stay off my feet for a week to realize that missing a few workouts help more than to work out every day.

Now, I've been taking it easy and my race results have improved. Once you've built a good base, it's okay to enjoy life away from training.

Rest and recovery is just as important as hitting a workout.   One workout will mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Don't lose the forest for the trees. One workout is not a big deal. Stressing over it like it's the end of the world IS a big deal.

Keep perspective and balance.

This post has a twinge of CDO. It's like OCD, but it's alphabetical. You know...The way it should be?

...I hate to see the fallout if you miss 3 workouts because of a flu or something.

It'll be fine. Plans have to be flexible. We have lives. Things happen.

I thought that this was going to a thread about what I look like in Aero position with my gut..

Then I realized that this was not in the Clyde forum and that "kneeing self" would be more accurate.

You might be able to contact the race director and get a refund.

Just one workout? Don't even sweat it. When I miss a workout I'll usually try and double up the next day, one in AM, one in PM or back to back, schedule allowing of course. If you train for months, race, cross the finish line, I'm sure you won't be telling yourself "I would have been faster had I not missed that one workout...". Now if you miss many workouts that's a different story.
