I have access to one of these, so I'd thought I'd ask. Your thoughts.

The ultimate cleaning used to mean that you removed the chain and soaked it in solvent overnight.  But, narrow chains for 9 and 10 speeds are hard to reconnect properly and you need a chain tool specifically for your type of chain.  If you do it wrong, which is easy, the chain separates at the most inopportune moment and your face smashes into the stem.  I clean my chain on the bike.  I recently got the Park chain cleaning tool which is really fast and gets the chain really clean and only uses a small amount of solvent.  TW

I have access to an ultrasonic cleaning machine at my LBS. They usually drop it in there for not much...sometimes a six pack of beer will get it done. I have never had any problems reconnecting my 10 speed narrow chain. I have a quick connect link that makes it worth pulling the chain off and getting it clean. I also have a Park chain cleaner machine thingy...does a great job, but not as good as the ultrasonic one does...

I have a quick connect link as well so thats what I wanted to hear. Is there anything else I should put in there as well while I'm at it?
