Three times now Jrs. G3 Powertap has sat unused for a week because of out of town races, switching it over to 11 speed, blah, blah.  Each time he puts it back on his bike it won't sync up with his Garmin.  Each time I switched the battery out and it worked fine again.  What am I missing?  Is there a step to "wake up" the PT once it's down for a while?  Is this normal?  It works flawlessly otherwise.

Does he use a HR monitor as well? Since I updated my Wife's Garmin 500 to the latest firmware, Garmin will occasionally not synch with PT g3 unless we disable her HR monitor. After it synch's we reenable the HR monitor and all is well. This has happened twice in the last 2 months.

I don't use a PT anymore, but I do notice that when I'm using my quarq, I cannot do the manual calibration unless I have my HR monitor on and detected when using it with my Garmin 500.  It will still pick  up power and cadence, and but the calibration will not work.  I haven't updated my firmware in a while...but just chiming in that I have also had experience where the HRM could impact how the 500 connects to other ANT+ devices.  I heard about this from another online user, so I'm not the only one either.  Likely a firmware update would solve it...but I'm lazy.

Everytime I up my run mileage I get injured. As I train I seem to inevitably get pulled calves, IT band syndrome then achilles issues. What can I do?

On the long bike rides of 80+ miles I get very strong pain in my toes. I slow down my pace and I might recover, but when I hit the next hill it is back. Could this be some kind of circulation issue?

I suspect your nutrition and training program may have more to do with your symptoms than your Clydesdale classification.
