Subject:Pawling NY tri tomorrow... water temp question
I was told that the lake temp for the tri tomorrow was 63 degrees as of earlier this week. Since then it has been in the 70s and 80s during the day and 50s at night. I am debating whether to wear my wet suit (which I don't really like to do as it is more constricting than my tri suit and make T1 much more difficult for me. I would think that probably the lake will be close to 65 by tomorrow - - is that warm enough to go sans wetsuit? Thanks!

Maybe....but it depends on your tolerance for cold water. If it were me, I'd definitely wear my wetsuit. My advice (take it for what it's worth) is that if you own a wetsuit and the race is wetsuit legal you should wear it.

The toll of fate strikes as those with orange swim caps are beckoned to begin the journey. Ahhh, nothing like the feel of ice cold water seeping in your wetsuit to wake you up. GO!
