Subject: RE: Burning River vs. Run Woodstock 100 milers My friend did both last year. She's not going back to Burning River this year but is going back to Woodstock, if that tells you anything. I paced her at Burning River and the course was not well marked. Several times we came upon folks who'd taken a wrong turn and were frustrated. I remember the last aid station (when you needed that final kick to the end) was pretty dismal and had run out of fruit and coke for the BOPers. With it being point to point the logistics were more difficult than the looped course of Woodstock. Burning River is a very scenic course, though, so there's that. I can't speak to the negatives or positives of Woodstock because I wasn't there with her but she spoke of the very fun atmosphere that surrounds that event. You can always do them both and make up your own mind! |
