If money were no object and you could upgrade to the best wheels possible for all around racing conditions, what would you put on the front and back?

Now let's say money is an issue (it always is), what would you buy to upgrade?

I need help with all of it ... disc, tubular, clincher, tri-spoke or quad-spoke, flat spoke, round spoke, change out the hubs and cassette? Please, help me or shoot me!!

Money no object- Campy Bora or some such, maybe some Fir's  AND a trispoke/disc combo (I don't see this as ever being an issue for me personally)

If money is an object, pick your task or criteria (light, strong, aero, cheap) for (climbing, tri racing, road racing, good roads, bad roads)

for built wheels at a very reasonable price, it's hard to beat Ultegra hubs laced to Open Pro rims brass nipples laced 3x 14-15-14

for a little more aero setup use the same hubs and Velocity deep-V's or Mavic Cpx-33's, same lacing, maybe bladed spokes

clear as mud?

What about tires?  I have clinchers, but I am curious about tubular also...

When I told the LBS owner I was thinking about Zipp 404s, he suggested a set of Bontragers, which he said were considerably cheaper than the Zipps with no discernible difference in looks, weight or performance. He also suggested Tufo tires would do nicely. I kind of like the looks of the disc rear with tri-spoke front, but when I talked to a guy with HED tri-spokes at a tri on Sunday, he said he liked his tri-spokes but there were "too heavy" for that race (it had lots of hills). What?!?%$#? I don't get all of this stuff. My guess is Zipp 404s would be ideal all-around racing tires, and if you had all the $$$ in the world, you would stow a disc in the trunk and slap it on the bike if the wind conditions were right. Woulnd't tri-spoke or quad-spoke wheels be a bit harder to control in the wind?

I have Zip404's on front and back for relatively flat rides with a 12-23 cassett. For the hilly rides, I switch out the back for a HED3 with a 12-25 cassett.

Also, if you have these great wheels, do you train with them, or put them on for racing?

Seeing as they cost an arm and a leg, I would use the Zipp 404's for competition only and train with my Mavics.
