Subject: Knee Pain
Hello.
I have some knee pain when running right knee outside, It really comes into play during long runs or when I really work the run. I do some strengthen exercises and I have been working on the Butt. any suggestion's?

I have several years of pain behind both kneecaps that I had diagnosed as chondromalacia, or patella femoral syndrome. Rest has helped, but I'm wondering if surgery offers a more full recovery.

I can train for half marathons on pavement and on trails, but as soon as I change it up to gravel or loose dirt my knee swells and the pain it causes is unreal. Any ideas why this happens?
