Subject: New Texan, new to tris
I "just" moved to Texas 10 months ago. I have a running background, but it has gotten very monotonous. I have been thinking of getting into tris for several years, but have just now decided to take the plunge. I'm looking to start working swimming and biking into my exercise routine, with a goal of completing a few tris next year. I'd love to do a half-ironman in the fall of 2015, but that will depend on my fitness level.

I know nothing about efficient swimming or how to bike (in the racing sense). I am looking forward to being a part of this community, learning from the vets, and hopefully sharing the joys and pains of getting into this sport.

Steve

For most people, there is a story in how they came to the sport as beginners. Some of the most inspiring of those beginner tales begin with health scares.

My expectations for the quality of this years’ Triathlon world championship were fulfilled. This was because of the superb location that is like no other along with having the top triathletes present.

There is a marvelous destiny out there waiting for you too, but only if you are willing to take chances and put yourself on the line.
