Subject: New to all this
Hi,
I'm still finding my way on here but am starting to think about going for the Philly Tri in 2015 and so am looking at training plans to find one that works for me. I've not really done anything like this before. The closest I've got is commuting on a bike for a number of years and so the bike portion should be OK with a bit of work - did about 10 miles a couple of weekends back which is my first long ride in a while. Wasn't hurting too much afterwards which I'm hoping is a good sign. I'm a bit nervous about the other two but I've the best part of a year to train for it. I'm hoping to go for the Olympic distance but see how I'm getting on nearer the time.

Welcome to BT and good luck on your goal. Keep working on building your base of fitness with more rides, swims and runs. Build up over time and have fun.

Congrats on your decision and good for you for giving yourself plenty of time to prepare.  If you're feeling shaky about the swim, getting a couple sessions with a swim coach is definitely worth the money.

For most people, there is a story in how they came to the sport as beginners. Some of the most inspiring of those beginner tales begin with health scares.

There is a marvelous destiny out there waiting for you too, but only if you are willing to take chances and put yourself on the line.
