A shout out to fellow Canadian Lionel Sanders and his domination at Ironman Florida today.

He destroyed the course record with a 6:58:46 time....  well, if you ignore the fact that the swim was cancelled.

Clear victory for Lionel with over 19 minute lead ahead of 2nd place.

Ironman Tracker

Very impressive Ironman debut, particularly the 2:44 marathon time.  Very windy conditions today, so the 4:12 bike split isn't too shabby either.

Looking forward to see what this guy will do in Kona in 2015.

Barrie says he rode 313 for the first 90K. Read his write up on ST, I am sure Lionel will have some interesting insight as well. Future is bright for Lionel for sure, will be interesting to see him evolve in the pro ranks the next couple years.

Which is 30+ watts higher than Ben Hoffman and other Kona top 10 rode. Granted temperature is not the same and the Kona guys had a swim in them, it's still pretty impressive.

It will be interesting to see what he does next. He has enough KPRs so he doesn't need to race IM but maybe he will do it for experience.

Reading between the lines of Barries write up looks like he is going for experience. But riding 300+ watts in 40-50 degree temps is completely different from hot temps.

I am sure he will be in Kona in 2015, I wouldn't mark him as a favorite by any means but definitely the wild card role of Ryf/Frodeno this year.

The triathletes really inspired me. I watched them in awe as childlike thoughts went through my head like, "I want to do that!" But then reality set in. “Who are you kidding?

At one of my last swim sessions the week of my first Ironman, one of my training partners told me how she was envious..."your first Ironman is fun, you have no pressure and no expectations!"
