So if you had to choose between Vuelta Corsa Lite Wheelset, Garmin 910xt or TRX Home Kit to up your triathlon game?

My current ride is a 2003 Masi Vincere triple aluminum road bike with a carbon fork. My current watch is a used Garmin 310xt and my current wheelset is Fulcrum Racing 7 that came with my bike. I'm a big guy about 240lbs. Thinking about doing the 70.3 Augusta in Sept. All thoughts welcome and feel free to make some substitutions if you feel it's warranted.

Thanks,

For me I go with the 910.  The Vueltas aren't really that much of an upgrade to your Fulcrums.  I'm not a home gym guy but if you want something for added strength workouts that's a good option.  The 310 gets the job done, but the 910 is much sexier!

I wouldn't spend the money on those wheels… the Fulcrums you have are just as good. Also, for me the 310XT is more than enough (I'm a duathlete though, so no need for any of the swim functions…), although for my wife, she's really using the 910XT to it's full potential. Guess it comes down to how important the swim functions are for you, everything else is close enough that it doesn't make a huge difference.

TRX on the other hand is awesome! I'm running faster and riding better after I started to use it. You can get your core training in in less than 30min, which gives me more time to do other things. Well worth it to me!

I have Bontrager Race Lite wheels. I was looking into renting Zipp 303's or 404's for race day for Ironman Lake Placid. What time will I save?

What kind of time difference would one expect in changing from a road bike with aerobars to a tri bike with aerobars over a HIM distance if using the same wheelset?

Need a high-performance wheel upgrade? Watch the review of the Specialized Roval Rapide Carbon Clincher wheelset which turned out to be an excellent all-around wheelset for both training and racing.
