OK, just read that the Beasties are approaching age 40.....Little freaked out. License to Ill came out when I was in 3rd or 4th grade, guess I thought that they'd never really age (and i'd never age). And they're still writing lyrics about Miss Piggy.

i think the beasties are the kind of guys who will keep on making good records well into thier 'golden years'....

I'm just hoping they know when its time to stop... (unlike various really old rock bands whose names i've chosen to omitt, not in the mood to offend anyone) But i'm just upset that it took them this long to follow up "hello nasty" which i still listen to all the time and love...

Can't beat a good listen to Paul's Boutique!

I think the thing that keeps the Beasties young and going strong is their interest in the world. They're very political and their interest in Tibet really makes them stand out.

Oh, I can think of too many bands that should call it a day already! :-O

I love the Beaties. But am afraid of the old factor as well. I mean really, hip-hop at 40???? Just doesn't seem right. Although I'm 31 and I still listen to them so go figure. The other day I went to a Denver dance club and I asked a guy in the parking lot what the crowd was like in there and he said, "Older people." I said, "Define older." And he said, "You know, 30 and over."

I could've killed him! I threatened to run him over with my truck!

O.

Check Your Head is in mine. (car) And I feel for you about the little punks talking about the "older crowd". I'm starting to see a couple of my old babysitting or tutoring charges at a bar here and there.
