Good morning BT!

5:30am:  1:50 on the trainer--found my sweet spot for future loooong rides where my HR is right smack mid Z2.  Am I weird that I love long trainer sessions?

Heading to younger daughter's bball games this morning, grading semester essays and then the rest of the three day weekend is wide open!

Have a great day BT!

Finally managed a longer ride on the trainer, just shy of 2 hours. Sufferfest video and the effort was through the roof, I fully expect to waddle through my run tomorrow!

Easy day physically anyway....Meg's Memorial Run.

She was a local woman who was training for Boston last January when she was struck by a drunk driver and killed.  A friend and I drove about an hour north to run in her home town with her family.  As I said, the physical part was easy....mentally I was in tears.  Her sweet young children, awesome husband and parents...his mother.  So glad I went.

Inspired by the above! Well done to you for attending and thoughts to those involved.
Down day today, just a core workout, before my long bike ride tomorrow.

wow, very inspiring and sad! Glad you could go to that celebration of her life!

I needed a break from the bike this weekend (but I do like longer trainer sessions too Kim - we are strange ;-).

8am - 80 min Hot Yoga Flow

3pm - 2300yd swim. Loving my 910xt so I can break down my sets. Just tried to stay relaxed and lots of drills!

I wouldn't quite use the word "enjoy" for bike training, but in my situation, trainer or road is really six of one, half dozen of the other. I often decide that I prefer the trainer over the industrial park, which is my only option for reasonably safe solo riding with a road/tri bike. At least on the trainer, one can watch videos (assuming Internet is normal, right now one can watch glitchy videos which look like doing Kona or riding in the Alps while drunk and legally blind.) For anything under two hours, def. the trainer, two hours about equal (depends on weather, etc.,) three hours and up, slight preference for outside....

Still not feeling that great (sore throat, hacking) but I feel okay when I work out unless I get under threshold effort (then I start wheezing) so carried on....

1:15 "long run" this AM.
40 minutes of lifting after
3000m of swimming this afternoon.'

Plus about an hour of working with the HS coach to learn shot, discus, and javelin so I can work with my elementary kids on them. Yikes! Used the HS girls' equipment but clearly I was am cut out for the throws (NEVER did anything but mile, two mile, and 4 X 800m relay in HS), even in youth track I don't think I ever did a jump, sprint, or throw). My arms are sore now!

Went back to your original post...throwing events are hard.  I did shot put and discus in HS.  I did beat a boy once, but generally was the worst at the event but that was better than my running at the time.  We went to a college to help judge for a race once.  I had to judge javelin too which I had never even seen.  Good to learn about things out of the comfort zone though.

Feeling confident and cocky, after finally losing some weight, I got off my back side and into triathlon.
