34 Cary, North Carolina | Subject: Road Bike Saddles I have my first 70.3 coming up at the end of May and I am a little freaked out about the bike portion because I have not found a saddle that is some what bearable. I am still using the stock one that came on my specialized road bike. I am 5'-11" around 350 lbs. Anybody have any suggestions on saddles I might want to check out? Thanks! |

Champion 6993 Chicago, Illinois | Subject: RE: Road Bike Saddles Wow first of all. 350 tackling the half ironman. I though at 300 that was hard. You can do it though. I have faith. I will definitely have to look at the one I use when I get home. I searched the net and I could not find it. Though I know its not super awesome confort but its doable. always seems to be a fine line between comfort and numbness at least at out size. |

I was hoping I would be down to 300 lbs by now (Lost 150 lbs so far) but alas I am not. Just gonna keep moving forward. Thank you for looking at your saddle when you get home! |

Master 2504 Southwest Iowa | Subject: RE: Road Bike Saddles As you lose weight your thoughts on seats may change. A seat I loved at 225 lbs is not a seat that I even like at 300 lbs after taking some years off and put on a lot of weight. And what I like is completely different from what my brother, brother-in-law, son-in-laws like and we are all over the spectrum on weights and builds. I have 4 bikes and different seats on each of them depending upon the style of the bike. Good luck on your search for the bike seat of your liking!!! |

Member 202 | Subject: RE: Road Bike Saddles After reading a lot of great reviews about the Adamo line, I put their Prologue on my bike. I wasn't having any pain from the stock saddle on my bike, just prolonged numbness after longer rides. I so far (> 2000 miles) really like the Adamo. I have done numerous 50+ mile rides, and a century on it, and find it fairly comfortable for a bike seat, and my junk isn't numb for several days afterwards. Having said that, there is a bit of a break-in period to get your undercarriage used to the saddle. Once I did though, I really liked it. |

Extreme Veteran 701 Raleigh, North Carolina | Subject: RE: Road Bike Saddles Looks like I may be late to the party, but I've had my share of seat issues this season. I've gone thru 4 different saddles and finally settled on a Cobb Plus. I did a 28 mile ride on Saturday and had zero issues with it. It looks to be a keeper for me ... http://www.cobbcycling.com/documents/Mens_Road_Seat_Guide.pdf

Ditto on the Cobb, absolutely love mine. Recommend using a demo program like Sportfit Lab's which I used. http://www.sportfit-lab.com/bike-seat-demo.html |

I had gone through 5 saddles before I got my Cobb Gen 2. There isn't enough money in the world to make me give it up. Granted, what works for me may or may not work for you, but with Cobb's return policy you will likely find the perfect saddle. Edited by k9car363 2015-04-28 5:53 PM |

Extreme Veteran 701 Raleigh, North Carolina | Subject: RE: Road Bike Saddles For the OP ... he looks to be in Cary NC. If this is the case - check out the demo saddles from Inside Out Sports. IOS has a plethora of different brands and models, including the recommended COBB saddle. |
