I am doing IM St. George on 5/2/2015. This will be my first Ironman sanctioned 70.3 and I will be going alone as my wife is unable to get the time off. Can anyone experienced with this event please give me some advise on how it all works. Ie: getting my bike to t1 prerace and all the little differences from a local type event. My hotel is within walking distance of the town square.

Thanks all!

It's all a pretty simple layout.  You'll have to transport your bike up to Sand Hollow and get T1 set up there.  After that, T2 and the finish are in the same place. It is very well organized--just go to the Expo and they walk you through everything.  They've got it down to a science!  It's an amazing race--I did it last year and am doing it again this year.  I hope you've been running some hills!  :-)  It's such a gorgeous course.  Can't wait to do it again!

Ditto what inglesteechur just said. This will be my third St. George and it is definitely one of my favorite races. If you can go to packet pickup on Thursday. Friday pickup is crowded. I would also get out to Sand Hollow fairly early on Friday to set up your stuff in T1 since it can be a mad house late Friday. As far as logistics the thing that I have the hardest time with is dealing with the bike pump in the morning. Since the only thing they will bring back from T1 is what will fit in your bag it makes it so that I can't bring my pump. They have bike pumps there but the lines to get your tires pumped up are huge. I end up begging somebody to use their pump and it's kind of a pain.

Aside from that, make sure that you bring clothes to stay warm prior to the swim start. It can get chilly at Sand Hollow befor the start. Also, it is much better to make it to the buses super early since the port-a-potties get very full if you arrive there later. The race, like all races in S. George are very well organized and the crowd support is awesome all along the course. The roads are, for the most part, silky smooth. You will also enjoy getting a glimpse of te deepest Pro Field other than Kona (this is not an exaggeration). All in all, a great race.

Much better detailed advice than I gave!  I tend to forget all those little helpful hints!  Have a great race!
