Anyone know why there were no Pros at the race this past weekend? Running uphill on 10th through the construction on run course sucked!

Never mind found my answer below. Funny though from the results it looks like 2nd place man finished before overall winner because of age group swim waves.

All in all, there will be 9 North American Ironman races which will not have prize purses, Kona points and will not be eligible for Kona validation. Those races for 2015 will be Boulder, Louisville, Wisconsin, Maryland, Lake Tahoe, Florida, Muskoka, Los Cabos, and Lake Placid.

At the same time, there will be 11 Ironman 70.3 races for age group athletes only. Those races that will not have pro purses, no prize points and no validation for 70.3 Worlds. Those 70.3 races will include Steelhead, Lake Stevens, Muskoka, Lake Tahoe, Augusta, Haines City [Florida], Honu, Boise, Victoria and Syracuse.

I agree that running uphill in the dirt was not fun ... Especially the third loop.

The monies were pulled from those mentioned races and redistributed to the other events with the idea of making them bigger purses and hopefully drawing deeper fields and more exciting racing. I was definitely bummed to see Wisconsin and Louisville removed, but change is change and life goes on.

Byrn won’t hold your hand through the long hours and miles required finishing or for success in an IM, he can only show you how to get there. The work is up to you.
