I too was bummed to only see two racers the leading male and female. I would have been far more interested in the group.

I also did the sprint course for this race. I'm going to try to get my race report done today, but like Chris, I didn start until almost 10:30, so the pros were done already!

Yeah, I have to say, I wasn't thrilled with the coverage. They only kept the cameras on 2 people and didn't even know how far apart anyone was. :-( It was definitely cool to get to watch a triathlon, though! Congrats to all the BTers out there who did it!

It sounds like complaining letters to NBC are in order. If the coverage was as bad as you say then NBC dropped the ball in a huge way. The possibilities for an event like this are enormous. It might be appropriate to compare this with the coverage on English TV of the London Marathon. When I was still living in England there was 6+ hours of coverage on race day. Now the pros finish a marathon in a couple of hours so the remaining time is devoted to the ordinary joes and janes competing for the heck of it. Its no exaggeration to say that interest in marathon running increased hugely as a result.
Just how inspiring would it have been to the "couch potato slobs" watching the Triathlon on TV to see the 85 year woman competing? This nation complains about the health of its population yet when a broadcast network has a chance to help and do something about it ...
Nothing. Probably wouldn't make for good ratings.
So its back to Chips 'n' dip, Beer and Monday night F***ball
