Just saw on CNBC that this tri will be live on NBC tomorrow. Thought watching (after training of course) might provide some motivation. There will be some Olympic competeitors so it should be fun to watch them tune-up.

I also saw that some forum members are competing in it as well. Good Luck to all of You!

Awesome. A TV sport I actually want to watch. Is it just me, or does the Saturday day-time baseball and golf fest bore the crap out of anyone else? I usually take it as an omen that my dog really wants to go for a hike. :-)

I take offense to the golf comment!

Baseball...unless I'm there or it's the World Series, I can do without. I'll watch here and there, but...

IS IT FOOTBALL SEASON YET??? I can't wait!

I think its on a tape delay. The race starts at 8 am. From what I remember the broadcast time is early afternoon.
I just went to the expo. It was quite depressing watching everyone pick up their race packets. Knowing that if I hadn't fallen off my bike I'd have been picking mine up too.

Hey Kim, haven't you ever noticed how easy it is to take a nap when golf is on tv?

Pray for rain folks or my honey-do list will include alot of yard work. I haven't figured out the DirectTv/vcr hookup yet.
thanks for the info.

LOL! So sorry to have offended you! I like football all right. It's definitely fun to watch. I just can't get swept up in who actually wins, so I'm no fan of football. But of the big American sports, it's the one I can deal with the best. The running back butts don't hurt either.

My parents took me to a ball game when I was a kid. I remember whining up a storm because I had thought that they tackled one another. I remember repeatedly yelling, "Is that all they do? This is a stupid sport!" My opinion hasn't changed since.

Golf and baseball would both be worth watching if they involved tackling. ;-) Races or tackling-type sports... that's all I can watch. Now, if they had full-contact tris, I'd be glued to the TV!

I will be going to watch tomorrow. Armed with my camera. So if you're lucky and you find yourself infront of my camera lens. You might find yourself posted on the site on Monday

Ian
If anyone whose in the race wants to drop me a PM with their race number and any other details that might help me find you. I'll look out for you.

Oh that's right; darn you Ian! I loathe getting my picture taken, so feel free to skip me if we cross paths. I'll just warn you right now, my face gets SUPER red when I work out, so probably not good for pictures... (yeah, yeah, that's the ticket...bad for pictures).

Ah football.. Thats the game where 2 teams of 11 people kick a round ball. Not the game where 100 armoured behemoths bump into each other for 30 seconds before a commercial break of 2 minutes.

Football.
Foot and ball

Football.

Foot and hand to carry a ball that’s throw forward whilst you wear padding and protection = Rugby union for girlies.

My point exactly. While we are on the subject, when did you last see one of these armoured behemoths actually touch the ball down to score a "touchdown" ?

p.s. Actually Mike I'm a rugby league man myself.

Too much padding and not enough time fighting in the scrum for my liking. Front row speaking :D

I am going camping but set the vcr for both the tour and the tri. Cool. Now I will have something to watch when we get a Nor`eastern this year.

Mike,

The " girlie football" as you call it is a lot more fun to watch than your Futball. I don't understand why it is so hard for the soccer players to kick the ball into a net that is so damn big.

You all are TOO funny. I'm with KimJ, sports on TV put me right out. The only time football is fun is when the Packers get close, because then everyone has parties...otherwise I check in on the tour before bed every night and that's about it.

Back to the topic , thanks OP for posting! I watched it, and I was amazed! Very inspirational and motivating.......I can't wait til they air the IM.

Unfortunately we didn't get to see the main field more! How many BT members/posters did this race?

I did the race ( sprint course ). Due to the huge number of people, I didn't go off until *after* the elite racers had finished.

I was number 2534. Oh, and I was wearing my BT singlet!

Hanging out on the fence by the pro transition area was very cool. Their T1 was about as fast as my T2.
