I didn't see a thread started, so I decided to start one. I apologize if I'm stepping on anyone's toes (ingleshteechur, in particular).

Today was a 5-miler at 0600 CST, 46:36 (including three 1-minute walking breaks at miles 2, 3, and 4). Felt great!

Anyone racing today?

Lol...I say the early bird starts the thread!

6:15am:  4.5 mile run with some 400m repeats

7:00am:  40 minutes strength training

Family day today...going to be a great day in Salt Lake City.

My good friend and fellow BTer, Katie Limb, is doing Ironman Texas today!  We both decided this was the year we would do an Ironman. I'm so excited for her--and through Iron Mobile I know she made it through the swim and is on to the bike!

Have a great day!

Just about to head out for a ten mile run.  Nice easy pace on a flat trail.

Rainy, cool and cloudy here in AZ - AMAZING weather for this time of year!

45 mile bike ride for me this morning. Just couldn't find a good rhythm and was kinda blah the whole time. Need my legs to wake up and realize that IM training is only going to get harder!!

Good luck to Katie - Hope IMTX goes well!

I'm racing today! I got a 10k PR by nearly 2 minutes. My time was 46:11, which was great since the race was very hilly.

Go Katie! Doing baby workouts here (between post-HIM fatigue and being sick all week). 30 minute easy run (with stop to talk to colleague and pet her dog). 1500m swim PM. It only took 27 min + though 200m was kicking and 200m was IM and none of it was at any kind of effort. Apparently I go faster in the pool when I'm rested.

Still waiting to bite the bullet on trying another HIM this summer. Dad has been having some health issues so hoping he improves a bit. Will probably make a decision by next week. Not looking forward to doing a couple more long bricks here, but Oregon will be great. Rainy season hasn't started yet here so heat has been absolutely horrific. Some clouds this AM so hopeful as always.....

Sorry to hear about your dad HR. I hope it all works out ok.

5 mile run tonight into the sunset. I've abandoned by usual route through the backcountry because the spear grass is growing too much, which means stopping every 3 minutes to pull out dozens of little harpoons from my socks. So lately I've been driving to some dirt back roads for a change of scenery. Tonight I had the lady friend pacing along side on her bike while we passed by a stampede of longhorns on the right, and baby donkeys on the left who found it entertaining to follow us.

Go Katie!

If you are able to honestly look at your routine and find the balance, you will be a happier person and a happier athlete as well.
