Subject: Swim goggles damage after the T1
Hi guys,

When I leave my swim goggles in my T1 bag after the swim, and later collect them after a race, the rubber on the glass edge gets damaged. This is mostly from the heat, because the gear bag is left under the sun or at some place. I use TYR-speedo goggles. I like the goggles, but seems like after the race they become useless. Anyone else faces similar issues with their goggles, OR do you guys suggest any particular brand ?

thanks

Swedish goggles. No rubber to damage.

I use a larger goggle, AquaSphere Kayenne or Vista. Never had a problem like that pop up.

I use TYR Special Ops 2.0 goggles.  I live in FL and have never had a problem like you describe with heat damage at race.

Exactly what make/model goggle are you wearing?  TYR and Speedo are two different brands.

So here I was, a hard-working, respectable, just-turned-forty-six-year-old, who never considered herself athletic, lining up in my swim cap and goggles for my first triathlon.

Will sustained exercise at or near maximum heart rate increase the risk of heart damage, or heart failure. Is the cardiac muscle also subject to strain and damage as other muscles?

For us beginners, a brick is usually a bike/run combo. This simulates the bike to run transition - many think is the toughest part of the race.
