I admit I was a little skeptical thinking it was going to be like that exercise bike my Grandmother had in her basement when I was a kid. I did the "Sunday Night Football Workout" for the last half of the first quarter and all of the second quarter. I pedaled medium intensity when the game was on then went to high intensity for the commercials. I thought my legs were going to turn to goo and drip out of my cycling shoes when they came back from the 4-5 minutes of commercials at the 2 minute warning only to punt the ball and go back to 4-5 minutes of more commercials after running 9 seconds off the game clock. After about a hour of riding I felt like I had a comparable workout to any outdoor hour long ride. It is definitely not my Grandma's exercise bike. Since football is not on every night and the commercials are unpredictable, does anyone have a good trainer workouts I can load into my Garmin? |

Thanks and keep going! Mary I bought a CycleOps Fluid 2 Trainer - http://www.cycleops.com/product/fluid2. I paid about $300 on Amazon. A lot of folks on here also recommend the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine. I don't know much about the KKRM. I was looking for something that was a compromise between performance and cost while not being too noisy. My research found that fluid trainers fit those requirements. I settled on the CycleOps Fluid 2 based on some good reviews online but ultimately because I was able so see one in person. So far I have been satisfied with it with 3 rides in. You can find trainers anywhere from about $80 to $1500 so it all depends on how much you are whiling to spend and what features you need / want. There is another discussion about different trainers that I looked at when I was shopping for a trainer: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp... |
