I just saw this. Will be curious if someone will buy it out of bankruptcy. Cervelo possibly? Regardless, I feel bad for Guru owners....

The article wasn't exactly clear - is this just the bike side of the business, or does it include all their accessories as well (helmets, shoes, etc.). I'm not certain how they are structured.

Just curious, why do you feel bad for Guru owners? I'm thinking of buying a CR901 (price is great!) and I don't think this announcement does anything to owners of their bikes. Any required parts should be easily available from 3rd party providers and in 20 years from now they may be extremely rare/valuable.

I bought a 2007 Guru new in 2010. It was a leftover. I got hurt that winter and stopped racing. The bike hung on my wall with 150 miles on it until last summer (4 years). I started racing again, lost enough weight to ride again. So I had a fit done. After the fit the mechanic found that the front derailleur bracket (part of the frame) was cracked. Guru refused to fix it for free claiming that it was a wear and tear issue. Yes, with 150 miles on it.
I had it welded local and it broke again as it was a design flaw. I got thru the season with it JB welded and the day after my last race the bike got stripped and all the parts that could be used were put on a new Giant Trinity frame.
I would never buy a Guru again nor would I recommend them to anyone.
Guess now that's a non issue. Other than being about to have one custom built they were just outed dated and over priced.
If I were to get a custom built bike I would go with a Whisper. They are fantastic and he's local for me.
