I don't have any affiliation with this. I also don't see myself having enough time to give this a try. But I think some BTers would be good for this.

Bottom line: a group of bloggers got a group called Team Race Athlete. They are getting a bunch of really cool gear from sponsors (tri bike with all dura ace components, power tap, Zipp wheels, D3 Multisport coaching, etc). They are looking for 2 additional age groupers to join the team. It appears that the sponsors want to show what their gear and coaching can do for a common triathlete.

Yeah, I saw this on the www.triscoop.com site. Very nice opportunity. Are there only 2 open spots though?

Very nice looking bike though! You have to commit to participate in IM MOOO '07 (IM Wisconsin '07) I would love to do it, but I really don't think I could do an IM yet.

I noticed in there a phrase "as they're building toward the ultimate Ironman" or something to that effect. So I'm thinking that unless you're planning on going to Kona, then you're not going to be what they're looking for.

I read it as though the Ironman (any ironman) IS the ultimate race.

I would hate to sign up for IMMoo 2007 hoping to get on this team only to have them not pick me (highly likely). They are still in the planning stages, so unless they figure it out, accept applications and make their selection BEFORE IMMoo 2006, I will be sitting this one out.

Very interesting.  I could deal with free coaching from Mike.

I'm drooling over the bike they're offering up, but I can't seem to find any info on how to sign up. Any chance they're making a decision on this before IMMOO 2007 entry is closed?

I sent an email asking how I could become a member and here was the response I received:

Thanks for your interest in becoming a featured contributor to raceAthlete.com.

If you would like your work featured on raceAthlete just add the attached code to your web site. It will add the headline generator as well as the raceAthlete logo and two small banner ads to your Blog or website.

Once you add the code we'll feature your work with a credit back to you and a link back to your Blog as well.

The raceAthlete Headline Generator will also feature your work on many other web sites when we add it to raceAthlete.

The idea is to create a virtual raceAthlete team that you can take part in so that we all learn from each other.

Once you have added the code send me an email with the story you want featured or just let me know that the code is on your Blog and we'll use your best work for raceAthlete.

This obviously doesn't address how I can get the free stuff. I guess they're primarily looking for triathlon/fitness related articles, which is not necessarily bad if you want some articles on the Net. I may just start a Blog since everyone and their dog seems to have one and submit some articles. I'll let everyone here know if I get more info on this.
