Hey BT!  Good morning!

4:15am:  :1:30 on the KK, solid ride

5:45am:  :30 minute run...nothing like a solid brick to start the day!

Yesterday afternoon:  :45 minute OWS

Today is my Friday!  We head into softball Divisionals tomorrow afternoon so I'm traveling to the games.  My hubby/daughter leave on the bus today with the team. Exciting stuff!  We fell one game short of making it to State last year--so this year we're hoping to get the job done and get to State next weekend!

Have a great day, work hard out there!

Have a great weekend and best of luck with State!

Still feeling under the weather here. Sinuses, eyes, and throat not cooperating. Hoping I will feel up to doing something soon as I'm getting kind of tired of just lying around.

My kiddos just finished their standardized testing today. So-so on language arts, but they hit it out of the ballpark on math. Not sure how much that reflects their strengths, or my teaching. Anyway, very proud of them for acing the math test today.

Good (Friday) morning! Great training day and hope divisionals go well!

My Thursday was:

7:30 am: 11 k run, with 10 x 400 m on 1 min rest (track). The run was also my work commute.

5 pm: 4.7 k recovery run home from work

7:30 pm: 2400 m swim with 4 x 250 m threshold pace on 20 s rests

Taking the morning off today - will get a recovery swim in on lunch break and an easy spin on my new (!!) road bike after work.

Have a great one everybody!

My trouble is this: I work overnights, 11pm-7am. How many hours should I keep between workouts? What constitutes a 'day'? How does rearranging days affect the overall plans?

Triathlon is more than just three sports. For most of us it includes the real world of work, family and a host of other obligations. Only one problem: when and how much sleep should we get?

Improving speed in swimming is more than just doing a few sprints at the beginning and end of your workouts. It takes a little more thinking, but I promise there is no high level math involved!

I'm on the other side of the college-student desk. I'm the one with the red pen in my hand. Those of us with schedules that change from day to day actually have an advantage, I think.

One way to improve your speed is to do track work that totals the time and distance goal. The idea is to slowly condition your body to be comfortable at your goal pace.
