Hiya i am Chris:-

I am new to triathlons, i took up running 2 years ago, but through injury and a need to challenge myself, to set new goals and to fulfill a dream to compete in triathlons, and maybe an Iron distance(outlaw/dearnford) in the near future.

Iam not new to sports being a life long MTBer climber and general outdoorsy person, who also enjoys throwing myself out of perfectly good airplanes when an adrenaline rush is required.

Hope to get to know some great people and become friends and competitors.

Chris..

Welcome! I also started out as a runner and got into tri for similar reasons. For me, it helps keep being active fresh and interesting. Lots of great resources around here.

Any races on the horizon?

While running, I've been really struggling to keep my heart rate down in the zone 2-3 range as frequently prescribed in the plan. This seems too slow?

I had read the articles on BT, I'd trained, and I thought I had prepared. There were, however, a few things that I didn't internalize despite what I'd been told.
