Kim- You had an early flight! Hope you enjoyed San Antonio.

Hour bike ride for me and one hour run. I am going to go play golf with the family. We make a nice foursome!

Will watch the U.S. Open this afternoon!

Happy Father's Day!

Have a great flight back, Kim.

5 mile trail run this morning. The heat got me and at around mile 4.5 I layed down in the creek and let the water run over me. I can feel Hot Runner rolling her eyes at me. "Oh Jamie you poor thing!"

Happy Fathers day to all the dads, and single moms who do double duty!

Not rolling my eyes. Isn't it well into the triple digits in your neck of the woods? There have been many days in Vietnam that I would have jumped in the river if it wouldn't have resulted in typhoid or worse! When I lived in Hawaii in grad school, I would sometimes stop on long runs a few times to go jump in the ocean!

No heat here in Oregon--supposedly was going to be warmer today but kind of marginal--high 60's, intermittent sunshine, strong gusty winds. The winds, lots of Father's Day families, and plenty of tree blowdown made for an interesting 3-hour-ish ride on our favorite rural MUP. Realized as soon as I started that I haven't ridden my tri bike outside since my HIM in early May. Got lots of handling skills work in today! Plus my saddle kept tilting the wrong direction--I adjusted it and apparently didn't tighten it enough. Ugh. About 3:05 of riding and trying not to hit branches or people, plus 30 minutes brick run after.

Do you celebrate Father's Day just once a year? Stop and take a little time to think about the other 364 days that could be Father’s Day for you.

If you are able to honestly look at your routine and find the balance, you will be a happier person and a happier athlete as well.
