Good morning!

6:00am:  :45 minutes upper body strength

In a few mins:  heading out for a trail run with the doggies

Rest of the day will be parade, swimming, BBQ, fire pit and fireworks!  A perfect July 4th!

Karen...the 'we' was my daughter's travel team!  I guess I didn't do much except cheer and eat snacks!

Have a happy, fun, and safe 4th BT!!!

sounds like a fun day Kim!!

6am - 5 mile run - hot and humid
8am - 65 min trainer ride - had some good threshold intervals!
20 min PT exercises after to stretch and get the hip moving!

Now just relaxing with the kids, working on my classes for the week and heading to a BBQ later. Should be a good day!

Happy Independence Day!!

My Fourth started out with the parade. After that, the daughter and I got on our bikes and put in 10 miles at a relaxed pace. I was riding my old Schwinn 3 speed, so it was still a bit of a workout. Once we got back I did my daily 2 minute plank, and then I hit the couch while the little girl and mommy decorated the cake for tonights cookout.

Great way to spend a holiday. Have a happy and safe Fourth everyone,

Well I am back after a week in Philly. Overall I have to admit the meetings were good. WE also ate well after meetings at some great restaurants. The days started at 7 AM did not end until 9 or 9:30 so my workouts were non existent.

I have 5 weeks until nationals and need a big push. There also needs to be some serious diet action. There are 10 pounds hanging around that need to disappear.

Today was 3 miles of intervals. The first 6 were great but the last 2 were challenging. I had a good swim of 1900 meters. It was intervsld with 16 x 100's

We will watch fireworks tonight and have a cookout!

Congrats to your daughter, then! Thought you had athletic talents beside tri that I didn't know about!

Not much training here. Monday is usually my swim-only day, but the pools are closed and lakes too crazy with drunken boaters on the 4th. Easy 15-mile-ish bike run along the river. Trails are very full between locals enjoying the sunshine, a Fourth of July event down by the river all weekend, and athletes and spectators in town for the Trials.

Got some open water swimming in today on the lake, and yes it's just as hot as the damn pools around here. Nothing like a good chop to make you feel like your form has gone to complete crap! I did find a pair of sunglasses went I went rootin around on the bottom though. Score. Don't blow any fingers off with fireworks tonight kids.

I don't know why I put 10 miles in my post above and I don't see an edit button when I am on my phone. My daughter and I only rode 8 miles today, not 10. I am such a liar...

Hope everyone had a happy Fourth.

Epic Bike Ride w/  California Triathlon 'Baldy Beast!'

Climb to the top of Mount Baldy. 65 miles, 7,500+ft of elevation gain, 6+ hours on the pedals,

Had to wear the club colors and all I had was a racer back style tri-top which I had never worn before. Even using sunscreen I got a very sever sunburn. Had to take today off work, might even see a doctor. Its probably the worst I have ever had.

Had new brake pads, super loud squeal on the fronts, poor fitment, came in hot on a downhill hairpin, back brakes ineffective up until lockup, tire started sliding out from underneath me, into the gravel, into the boulders, bent back rim, busted my jewels on the top bar. Could have been much worse.

Phone overheated, lost service, battery exhausted from trying to find signal, only got half the ride on Strava, got lost, got rescued.

Yes indeed, Epic Suffer Fest for sure!

Rewarded myself with cold beer and fireworks!
