Subject: Puffy Hands and Feet
Hey guys, I'm new to this site in a desparate attempt to figure this out. I have recently upped my distance training and am doing 1/2 Ironman's and REALLY enjoying them. I'm not super fast (about 5h 07 min for my fastest one) but would like to continue with my training. However, lately, after a long training day (and sometimes on a rest day too ) my hands and feet seem very puffy. I can't get my rings on/off and shoes are suddenly tight. Everyone I have talked to agrees it's salt related, but nobody seems sure if it's too much or too little....any ideas? solutions? suggestions? I don't remember noticing it as much in the winter....

Thanks, and looking forward to responses!

Welcome, as well.

You know the man with the nutrition answers at this site is BrianPBN. You should shoot him a message. But I have this experience (well, I mostly notice it in the hands) all the time. I just assumed it was something I had to get used to. If you get an answer from Brian, be sure to share!

I get this too, especially after a long run in hot weather. Have no idea what the reason is either though! It always just sort of goes away...Cindy
