Stopped by HFP's site yesterday...apparently, they've changed the name of Pineman! It's now the Toyota Challenge at Buckeye Lake. . I dunno, I liked Pineman better.

Yeah, I saw that too. I did it the 1/2 IM in 2001 when it was the Mohican Pineman, and in 2003 when it was the Deer Creek Pineman. I liked the Pineman name also.

The "Toyota Challenge" sounds a little too corporate (he types, as he sips his Starbucks latte).

Are you doing the race this year?

Yep! I did the 1/4 iron last year, and i'm stepping up to the 1/2 this year (oh sh!ite) I dunno, it seems like there's almost TOO many events this year.

Sprint Tri/Du/Aquabike, individual and relay
1/4 Iron Tri/Du/Aquabike, individual and relay
and the half Tri/Du/Aquabike, individual and relay

that's a lot of people to get sorted!

I'm not sure how many people are going to be in my AG...over the past years, there hasn't been one (or im reading the results wrong).

I did the 1/2 at Ceasar Creek 3 weeks ago. They had several races going on, but HFP did a really good job of sorting them out.

What age group are you in? It would be nice to get some hardware in your first HIM (it is your first, yes?)

I'm planning on doing the 1/2. I like the Deer Creek venue (pretty flat).

Yep, my first 1/2.

I'm in F 20-24. Its usualy small. I got hardwear at buckeye lake because my AG is so small. I would be pretty nice to get hardwear, the ego needs a little massage at the end of the season.

I liked the venue last year too, except that the sun is really bad on the run.

I'm just worried about the food situation- I'm type 1 diabetic. I know I should plan on carrying my own for the bike, but ehh...im a worrier.

Yep, it's confirmed. Participant list says I'm the only F20-24 half racer. Ohhh boy. Bring it on.
