To all you BTers who have served and are serving...thank you!!!

5:00am:  2 mile easy recovery run followed by lower body strength + core

Day off of school today so a friend and I are heading into SLC for some girl time!

Jamie...to answer your question--a lot of reassuring, a lot of open discussion with facts.  Karen said it better than I could--some of the phrases heard during the campaign have now given bullies of all ages license to keep repeating it. I wonder if the Trump Camp is going to address what's happening in our schools and out in the public. Some of the reports are downright scary.  I don't like this fear environment at all.

Enjoy the day!

I wish I could have a girl weekend too! (Singapore would be my favored place for that. Probably like SLC is for you.) Weird week here between the election and my two grade-level teammates out sick for two days. They are back with tales of horrible stomach virus--both parents and a kid in one case. Yuck. Sure hope I don't catch that! Pollution has been horrible this week--not sure why, seems like some kind of inversion-- so training has been tough as well.

AM 36 minute run. Supposed to be easy, but it felt like there was more pollution than oxygen.
PM 30 minutes of strength stuff, including 3 X the evil stability ball transfer crunches! (If anyone wants stomach cramps without getting sick, google it.)

Thank you, veterans!I have the day off, so was able to get in my swim at a leisurely time. 8:15 - 1800 yard swim, technique focused. Have a great day and weekend.

Thanks! I often think of my fellow veterans and how lucky I was to have served with some awesome folks, many of which I stay in contact with today.

Nice easy pool swim this morning at 7:00am, nice to sleep in.

Going to take a 45 minute recovery run this afternoon.

Have a great day!

Here, here. Thinking of my Grandpa (USN, WWI) and Dad (USMC, Vietnam), and thanking them for more than my not-so-hot genetic composition.

Ever since I’ve started training for this triathlon, I’ve noticed some subtle differences between me and my friends who are actually VFT’s (Veterans of a Finished Triathlon).

I started the Beginner Triathlete training program in earnest after Chinese New Year. I viewed the distances in the peak week with trepidation - how on earth would I manage it?
