Good morning BT! How the heck are ya!

5:00am: 30 min run with some drills in the middle
5:30am: 40 min lower body + core. I couldn't understand why my core was so sore but then I remembered the devil ball transfers from yesterday Karen!
That's a good one!

Today's my off day. 

I'm in the very early base building phase, with an emphasis on strength. Usually three total s/b/r type workouts during the week, with two being swim. Been somewhat interesting and entertaining to watch my weight creep up. Really trying to embrace the periodization mentality, that the lighter, easier load now will pay dividends later.

As a side note, I'm reading the Daniels' Running Formula. It jives with a lot of what I've found to work in my running, and with what I've read about triathlon from authors like Friel. Anyone familiar with Daniels, and have you found his approach to be sound (as either an athlete or coach)?

I'm Back!!

Hello BT, I have been taking some time off due to injury and major fatigue after my last 2 races. Body just wasn't doing well. I did a little work last week, but today starts back to my winter/race training for April. During my 6 weeks off I have gained about 12lbs, but I did enjoy the beers.


Today was an easy 30min bike ride and 30 min walk following.

Fell asleep early last night! Glad you enjoyed the stability ball transfers.... I have some of that on tap for this afternoon.

Yesterday, 3K of swimming. Included some 25's with only one arm--Has anyone ever tried to do that? I wasn't making much progress! Had to use fins for that part, or I never would have finished the workout before the pool closed.
