Favorite tires & tubes?

The tires that came on my new Felt S32 were really crappy, already had to replace the front on the road, got a Continental Gatorskin +k, which I like, but I started looking and there seem to be a lot more out there. I want something smooth, fast and strong, the roads here suck. thanks!
