Elite  4583   |  Subject: 8.27.17 Sunday Funday!Hey BT! Busy morning already for me! 5:45am: 30 minute run 6:15am: strength stuff + plyos. I also spent some time cleaning up and organizing the high school weight room while I was there. Our PE teacher has really just let things slide in there--posters falling down, equipment unorganized. I got everything stapled back up and organized. I've also noticed lifters aren't re-racking their dumbbells and plates so I made a few posters to hang in there reminding people it's common courtesy to re-rack everything. After that spent a few hours with hubby moving stuff to his new classroom and we moved more desks into my classroom--my first two blocks of freshmen have 30 kids each. Yikes! It's going to be a tight squeeze but I say bring 'em on! Rest of the day will be ironing school clothes--I spend the summer in shorts and tanks tops! School starts tomorrow and I need clothes! I'm also hoping to get some hammock time in because I won't be seeing that for a while! Lol! Have a great day! |

702  Aledo, Texas | Subject: RE: 8.27.17 Sunday Funday! Hey there. Kim, the only thing that would make your experience in the weight room today better is if your husband was the PE teacher. Ha. 5:20 - 40' ride. We are (sort of) getting some of the rain from the hurricane, so it rained off and on during my ride. Two weeks after my race, I'm feeling quite out of shape, particularly on the bike. I've also gained 6 pounds. Yo yo on its way up! I am very much looking forward to picking up a power meter in the next week or so, and then really focusing on getting to (hopefully) average on the bike this offseason. I'm ready to get to work! Master 8247  Eugene, Oregon Bronze member | Subject: RE: 8.27.17 Sunday Funday! Sounds like a very busy day! I need your energy (and your hubby's) around here. Did get some packing, housework, and cat care set-up done this weekend but otherwise pretty much consumed by training and "recovery" (lying on the couch). Have a great first day! 3:45 ride on the trainer. Yikes! The workout was so hard I couldn't see how to safely do it outside, plus there was a lot of standing water on the road after heavy rain Saturday night. Followed by a 30-minute brick run in what felt like oven temperatures. Toes feeling somewhat better (after the first 5 minutes or so) but word to the wise--if you use an herbal cream with capsicum (chili oil) on your feet, it's going to feel like running over hot coals if you hit the road in 95 degree temps after nearly four hours of biking. | 233 Ventura, California | Subject: RE: 8.27.17 Sunday Funday! Nice and comfortable 2 mile ocean swim. Felt like I was really losing form and taking it way to easy, actually feel like I am going backwards on the swim despite kicking things up a notch to 2 pool workouts plus the ocean swim per week. Either way is was a very nice swim despite a couple nasty oil slicks I had to swim through. You could smell the petroleum, no wonder there haven't been any sharks lately they are like 'YUCK don't swim in the filthy oil contaminated water no matter how tasty the humans are' lol Followed that up with a coastal adventure endurance run at 13.5 miles at a very mellow 2:45 (12min/mile) pace. Such a amazing beautiful day along the coast for a run. Been doing some beach sand running to strengthen the ankles and its also very relaxing just running along the shoreline with the water playfully lapping at your feet. Enjoy the evening. |
