I travel for a living and spend a lot of time on airplanes and in difference cities for business. I'm typically in a suit, dressed up like I'm some kind of business man (what a crock). Anyway, I purchased my yellow "Live Strong" bracelet a few weeks ago and I've worn it ever since. Oddly, I've been asked about it many times each day by those who just want to know what it is (coworkers, flight attendants, etc). Its a great topic of conversation. Additionally, I have been surprised by how many folks will flash theirs at me from across a room, on a plane, or in a restaurant. This is just so very cool, for such a great cause, and was such a great idea to show support for one of the best pure athletes in the history of mankind.

Go Lance, Livestrong!

A serious rider at work has one and I am jealous. Where can we pick them up locally (ATL) if at all?! How much are they?

I bought mine form the Lance Armstrong Foundation. I feel it is a great way to show support to people that are struggling with a horrific disease.

I have given them to a few people who are struggling during tris.

They all seam know what it means.

It is amazing how that little piece of rubber pumps them up and helps them dig a little deeper, it has been great.

I always wear mine.

I unfortunately may have to wear 2 very soon.

I have a friend who just got diagnosed with cancer again for the second time...

And it is not good she has already lost her breasts and now more bad news we will find out early next week what the scoop is.

If you don't mind, Maybe add Connie to your prayers over the next few days.

I thank you in advance.

Dam it got me again, we just wanted one year.

Sorry for this.

Unfortunately, it will touch us all sooner or later.

DAMM IT!!

I've been wanting to get one ever since I heard about it, but they are just not available around here. Maybe we might get some up here by the 2005 Tour! :-(

I got mine at a Nike outlet store, but you might try the Lance Armstrong Foundation web site. I was going to order from there when I saw it in a store. I also saw in a Finish Line catalog that some of their stores were carrying them.

I agree they are a great conversation starter. I also appreciated Levi Leipheimer comments yesterday that many of the tour riders are wearing them in support of the foundation and of what Lance has accomplished.

Fuuny cuz I'm a HUGE Sheryl Crow fan ( in fact my wife says that she is my 2nd obsession) and I found out about them thru her web page. Obsessed or not, my wife just got me one for our anniversary! They are cool, seem a little juvinile but since it's for such a good cause I'll wear mine for a while. They are really growing in popularity. Rock on Lance! Mark

I bought one from www.niketown.com and paid $1 for the bracelet and $6.50 or so in shipping, (!) But I figured it was for a good cause. Although I don't know if the LAF benefits from the shipping costs. I then bought another one from a LBS here in Crystal Lake. I gave the first one to my dad, a Prostate Cancer survivor. Women may want to buy the "YOUTH" size, as the regular sized band was a bit big. Are these bands only for wear during the tour? Can we wear them all year long?? I intend to keep it on at least thru the summer! www.wearyellow.comGo Lance!LW

It is for as long as you need to wear it.

I think the foundation was trying to find something to tie in the courage it takes to face cancer and with any luck beat the CRAP out of it.

Just like Lance.

I hate to turn this thread bad, but I have to post this. Some guy was selling them on Ebay. He said he bought a ton to support the cause as his dad had survived cancer. And then he's charging 3 bucks per band AND shipping. WTF??? This pissed me off so bad.

Sorry, had to rant.

Well there is no end to the greed some people have.
I think that the cost of the bracelets Has to be only 1 dollar it has something to do with there tax deal with the government.

I can,t remember the details but I read it on the LAF site I think.

To bad even if the extra cash was going to the guys family.

They are not about that I don't think.

I just might wear mine forever--maybe it will give me the strength to overcome death when that time comes. Since I've had it on, every time I'm in the pool and my arm comes over my head, I see that flash of yellow and I think "I can't stop, I can't let up, I can do this." I've taken 10 seconds off my 50M swim time in the last 2 weeks. It is funny how the mind works, that a $1 piece of rubber can transform you. I've had the same experiences, I'm in corporate clothes with this yellow bracelet on and people have to ask. And if I go somewhere and some stranger is wearing one, it's like we're instantly family. It's awesome. I'm buying a bunch for people at work because one of our coworkers was diagnosed with lymphoma recently, it's Stage 4 and she's undergoing bone marrow transplants this week. Just think about how great it is to be alive, with your bones in one piece, and wear yellow, don't take it off when the tour ends. And along with Roy's request, keep Catherine, my friend, in your thoughts/prayers, whatever your religious affiliation (or lack thereof) may be.

Which LBS in Crystal Lake?

I want one, ( have ordered 10 pack from LAF ), but it doesn't look like they'll arrive before the end of the tour.

Hey guys,

The goal of the program was to sell enough to raise $5 million for the LAF. I heard on OLN the other day that they are about 1/2 million shy of their goal. If you haven't yet purchased a bracelet, please do so for the cause. I think I will wear mine forever.

Prayers to all your loved ones who are battling cancer. Both my mother and grandmother are survivors.
