"Asia Argento, the Italian actress who was one of the first to publicly accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, secretly paid off a young male actor accusing her of sexual misconduct in the months after her revelations about the disgraced movie mogul. According to a report in The New York Times, Argento paid former child actor Jimmy Bennett $380,000. Bennett claims that in 2013, a then 37-year-old Argento assaulted him in a California hotel only two months past his 17th birthday. The age of consent in California is 18."

When I was 17 I would have loved to be sexually assaulted by a 37 yo woman....even an ugly one....and she is pretty hot. Yes, technically the age of consent is 18.....but I guess the real 'issue' is she used her position to manipulate him?

I know everyone is different but at 17 I joined the Army NG and went to Basic Training. From the time I was 15 I worked 40 hrs a week all thru HS....so maybe I grew up too fast? But still....there is nothing 'magical' about 18.....it's a arbitrary number of orbits the earth made around the sun since you were born and the gubment decided that was the number of orbits that have to be made before you are allowed to think for yourself.

If I boinked a 37 yo when I was 17 you could not pay me enough not to brag to everyone I knew! But that's just me....
