It is very difficult to tell about the quality of a frame over the internet. I would think that an LBS could probably come close to matching that level of bike for around the same price-point.

It looks to be appropriately priced for what it is, but it's not the screaming deal that the ad makes it out to be.

I am fairly new to this as well and I buy a lot of stuff on the internet but I would not buy a bike without having the oppertunity to ride it. I second the opinion that a LBS should come close to if not beat that price for the advertised quality of the bike. With that said both of the bikes Ihave ought have been used the first form a bike shop for 450.00 a very nive but old Cannondale and the second 775 for a 2004 nearly top of the line Fugi I found on craigslist both bikes I could ride before buying.

No, it's not worth it ........ the only thing 105 on the bike is the rear derrailleur. Everything else is below it .......

For $700 you could find a closeout '05 bike (even the '06 stuff will be going on sale soon because the '07 stuff will be shipping soon). You could probably find a full 105 bike for a tick over $800 if you look enough locally.

thanks guys I did find a nice bike at my LBS for 875 it is an 06 bike so I will probably go with that. Nice thing is buying from then they offer free tune-ups for life.

Cool.  There are other advantages to buying from the LBS as well.  They will fit you to it, they'll hopefully stand by the product if you have any problems, and by supporting them you are helping to keep them around for things like rides from the shop, advice, etc.
