gotta love sports basement! if you are a guy who wears a size 9.5, 10, or 10.5, and live in a climate that gets cold and snowy in the winter, go order a pair of these AWESOME salmon gore-tex trail runners. the same shoes (new colors) are on rei right now for $110. sports basement - $35!!! i LOVE these shoes for winter running and have since picked up the non-gore-tex version which are much more breathable, for summer trail running. the gore-tex version is PERFECT for winter running in cold weather, ice, slush, etc. keep you feet just the right temp w/ a pair of smart wool running socks. yax trax work great with them too. and $35 - can't beat that! i think i got mine on uber-clearance at rei for around $50. click on the picture to get to the store.

I too have a pair of XA Pro's from a year ago and they are great shoes.  Like Autumn said you really can't beat that price anywhere.  Very true to size for those of you that are worried about it.

Great deal and I might just pick a pair up. But my question is, can you use these type of trail shoes for regular running on the street?

Personally I didn't have luck with them on the street.  I need a more neutral shoe for the flatland.  I even tried them on the treadmill where I would get more shock absorption and I just didn't like them on those surfaces.  Trial runners have a plastic plate that runs the full length of the shoe to keep your foot from being bruised by rocks underfoot and it makes the shoe a lot stiffer than road runners.  I would not recommend them for the road but others may have other opinions.  I did take them on a trail run this weekend and fell in love with them all over again.  I also use them for fastpacking.  Well worth the money all the way around.

they are okay, but not as good as regular trainers. HOWEVER, my new shoe of choice is the salomon trail comp scs. its as comphy on the pavement as it is on the trail. since much of my running covers both, i think i'll be in these shoes for a while. that said, i'll still wear the gore-tex model for winter running on the pavement...since in the winter, the pavement here is covered in snow and ice!
