Hello to everyone. I am a 41 husband and father who is tired of being 50 lbs. overweight. I started riding my bike this past week. 1 hour/ 1 hour 10minutes for now and plan on increasing in a few weeks. I plan on adding in a run/walk program that I found on this site( by the way it a great site) starting next Monday. I guess since I live 5 miles from the beach I should throw in some swimming too. I hope to enter some of the tri events around here next spring. Good luck to everyone and keep at it. Steve

Welcome. It's always great to have another South Carolinian on board. I live in the upstate. But, my wife's family has a beach house just south of Charleston and I live to come down that way and ride my bike on those long, flat lowcountry roads. Like you, I need to lose about 50 pounds and riding on these hills in teh upstate just kills my legs.

Good luck with your training,
Scott

Yeah I know what you mean about the hills. I carried my bike to the Clemson area a while back and riding on those hills killed me. It sure is nice to ride on flat land but would like to be able to train on some hills also. Steve
