I just got home last night from the Ironman USA, Lake Placid, NY volunteer party. I decided I at least wanted to try to accomplish the mini-tri's they have in my area, and at least attempt the Tinman in Tupper Lake, NY next year. I just dropped 50 pounds over the last year and a half. Now it is time to get back in shape. I have two small children (4 & 2 yrs). My husband and I both work for oursleves, which can be a blessing.

Today I start trying to incorporate running in my walking rountine at lunch. Hope to get support here until I may find someone in town to train with.

Welcome and congratulations on the great changes you have already made in your life - not easy with 2 small children! Start with realistic goals, read all the info this great site has to offer about training (and read people's training logs) and you will be amazed at your own progress! Go get 'em!

I'd say that you have already done alot to "get yourself into shape"! Just continue all of your hard work and come back often for the support that you need. I find that it's much easier to get to the gym after I come and visit this site. Great place for motivation!
