Not in So Cal, but new, too. I have decided to use the Couch to 5K plan on the website. I have lost 50 pounds over the last yr 1/2, but have decided to step it up a notch.

Good Luck! Today I did my first day incorporating running in my walking routine.

Hi there, and welcome! It's great to have you! There are some good training programs on this site, and lot of advice available. Do you particularly like one of the events more than the others? If so, maybe concentrate on that to build confidence and then add the others more often as you get stronger. Good luck!

Welcome! You will be inspired by the many, varied stories of the folks here. Set realistic goals for yourself - look around at people's training logs and you will see we are all so different but working together toward our own fitness/lifestyle goals. Good luck!

How is your second day going?! I ran two minutes on my 40 min walk yesterday. I just got back from a walk pushing my two kids (4 & 2). That is an extra 60 pounds. Do you think that is considered a strenth excercise. LOL

Keep in touch.

Went running today... have asthma and the heat really gets to me but i made it through. Planned on doing about 5 miles but ended up doing about 3 and couldn't keep up the pace. Definately going to start running earlier, 12 noon in southern california is NOT ideal running weather. Keep it up Gwen, I'm pulling for you...

Great job. Set realistic goals, but don't be afraid to push yourself. I've lost 50 pounds and believe that the idea of doing a tri, and actually tri'ing has saved my life.
You've accomplished the biggest thing, you've vowed to do a tri, the rest is just follow up.
Keep us all updated and good luck.
