I generally throw 'em in a box or something. Right now, I prefer showing my race numbers with my times on them more. But even those I don't really display, per se.

Sorry that's not more creative, but it's an option.

Have them hanging from my dresser mirror ..... gonna have to do something better with them and the race numbers sometimes as I accumulate more.

I hang them from a hat rack. It is nice actually because it has a shelf and so plaques and stuff can sit on top.
A cool idea I saw in Triathlete mag is to turn them into ornaments (albeit heavy ornaments!). I think I am going to do that with some of the ones I have more than 1 medal, like the 2, soon to be 3 ducks from the Disney 1/2 marathon.

I only have four finisher medals so far. So tonight I am attaching them to the ceiling fan in the family room to deter any tall people. Betsy you'll be safe. Right now my medals and bib numbers are so scattered. Some in my car, closet, spare room. Latest bib number is still attached to my race belt. I really want to get everything together and start a scrapbook for my bib numbers. My wife is planning a shadow box to display items from my first race and first Tri.

There was a thread similar to this in COJ a while back, I'll try to find it.

Found it!

JeepFleeb - 2006-10-16 4:26 PM I'm wallpapering my workout room with all my bib #s and medals.

Hey that is not fair...that is what I have already got going on in my workout room!!!

Then again, you probably have more this year than I have in my last 10.

Maybe some unfortunate child who is sick or hospitalized would love to have one if you find you have no need for it.  I gave my 2006 Lake Placid Ironman finisher's medal to an 11 year old Connecticut girl who is battling cancer.  She enjoyed getting reports from me leading up to the race, and followed my progress on race day.  Personally, I'd rather have the memories than the medals.

Wow Max.  That is a really GREAT idea.

I may steal that and pitch it to my tri club as a community interaction that we pursue.

Thanks.

I give them to my kids and let them beat each other over the head with them.  This way I get rid of them and get entertainment.

What a wonderful idea. Mine just sit on a shelf collecting dust.

I put my race bibs, medals, a pic or two from the race, and a little summary of my results in a cheap plastic frame.  Got a wall full of them.  It's nice sometimes to look back on what I've done.

Eventually when I run out of space I'll have to limit this to just the races that mean the most to me, but for now I've got one of these from pretty much every race I've done.

What do you do with your medals and awards? I have mine hung on the back of a door...not very attractive. Any easy inexpensive ideas. Creative folks please chime in !

I have around 12+ medals.

Medals... awards?

What's that? Never seen one.

We have an old house, so we have transums (sp) over each door.  My wife took a tension bar (read: shower curtain holder) and put  my medals on it.  That way they are above the door to my office/tri room.  It's really cool.  I have to post those pictures of her redoing my tri room.

When you say get rid of them you are talking medals and not the kids, right?

Back when my wife and I almost literally couldn't rub two pennies together, we decorated our christmas tree with bike parts and race medals as we couldn't afford ornamnets. Our garland was actually a couple of old chains. The top of the tree was a Hayes brake rotor with ribbon laced like a star. Chainrings on strings, etc...etc... We had so many complements on it, the bike part tree is now a staple in our house.
