I am very excited to announce that my sister has decided to take good care of herself from now on and plan to start swimming on a regular basis.

However, she is having trouble finding a swim cap that fits her noggin. Her prior experience with swim caps was that they kept popping up and ejecting from her head. (May be she wasn't wearing it properly?) I wonder if my fellow BT'ers have any suggestions. BTW, she is a plus size, wears size 22.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Do you know if she was using a silicone or latex cap? Latex caps have more give.......

I don't think she has been using swim cap at all. Since latex caps are pretty cheap, she is going to one to try out. I warm her that latex caps rip easily though.

Use nylon caps.

Or not use a cap at all.

I don't mean this exact one, but maybe find one with a chin strap like this speedo one in the link.

Where would you get a spandex one? My head hurts like a MOTHER every time I get out of the pool - it makes me feel sick. Are there other sizes out there anywhere?

The regular latex and silicon caps are some what small. The Speedo bubble strap cap as suggested above in this thread is a bit bigger and easy to slip on without pulling hair, keeps more water out and wont pop off with the strap which also keeps the cap sealed. If water does leak in a set of ear plugs works well with these cap . Bubble swim caps are also made in large, medium and small sizes by Watergear and others and if worn with over a inner cap or swim band are very waterproof. I wear one with the swim band and after I swim my hair and ears are dry.
