Subject: Almost a New Tri guy...
Hello all,
My name is Omari Broussard, from SD, Ca. I am almost new to the sport because I don't have a bike yet (I am currently taking donations, lol). But once I get one I will be in full swing. I am in the Navy and I have a wife and 4 children. I gained interest in the sport many years ago after watching "The Grip" Mark Allen win IM. Being a black man, most of my family we can't swim well, but I'm working on it. See you all at the races soon.

Have you checked e-bay for a road bike? You can find good deals and most people are honest and fair I find. Good luck with the training!

Welcome! glad to see another Navy guy here. You definitely are in the right area to get into Tri's. I just transferred out of there in January. Unfortunately, I didn't decide to TRI until after left. Best wishes!

Welcome!  Most of us here have struggled with swimming, but truly, it does get easier!  It unfortunately takes time.

Also - I know there's a big tri club in SD - maybe check out their website for used bikes.

Good luck in your training!

Hey folks I'm back. My wife happen to find a bike for me at a garage sale. Its an RS700 Cannondale w/aerobars. the guy is selling it to me for $350.00. So I guess by next week I will be official. I thank you all for you advice. I'm going to join the SD TRI club and there is a race this month (IB Triathlon).
