The first page has some great training programs! Currently doing couch to 5K (I started in phase II given my current fitness level), it working upwards has not been as hard as I originally thought! This is a great place to stay motivated and find answers to all of your questions. Everyone is really supportive on this site. Welcome, and good luck with your training. What are your goals?

Goals are to begin with a duatholon - training - and work my way into shape to the point where I can participate in events. Eventually, I would like to go to a triatholon - perhaps with cross country skiiing as opposed to swimming.

im sure u can modify one of the programs to fit your duathlon training...just find the right distances...u may have to mix and match parts of the sprint  and oly.  though i never du trained, have your longest training run at least exceed the sum of the individual runs...run and bike 2-3 times each, one or two rest days.  brick work will be important near the last month leading up to your race.

let us know the distance and maybe we could work on a plan.

hi there

I only recently found this site and am interested in sprint duathlons as well....I already run (ahem, jog!) 2x/wk [3-5 miles per run] and bike 2x/wk [20-30 miles per ride] as well as strength training.

I've got the base, now just need to stop doing 'junk' miles and have a purpose!

It's kinda scary for me to actually make a committment to this..... :-O

Going to start with a sprint. I have been running 5ks for awhile. I have a mountain bike though, not a road bike so I am not certain if that will complicate matters.

I searched the site but did not find a program for duatholon for the Sprint. your right - i may have to modify. Let me know if you have a program you feel comfortable with - thanks for the reply!

I know what you mean - but I keep bouncing back and forth from good shapre to bad shapre. My nutrional habits follow the same path. I have to set goals for myself or I simply fade away. Plus - in this case - I get to do more than just run. I need some variety.
