Everything I posted here is copied from the posts. No other information. The Cannondale is cheaper than the OCR by 150...ocr being ~500

Going to look at both tomorrow... leaning one way more than the other but wanted to get that last nudge by people who know this sport.

Thanks

Can you try to find out what kind of components are on the bike?

When choosing a bike. Thoughts I think of are:

What are your interests? Long rides, short rides, training, racing
Size
components
tires
frame

Please post more information.

Training and racing... This is my first bike so I think I am going with the cheaper bike to get through my first season...

The Cannondale is mid 90's See here:

The OCR3 is brand new.

Going to look in a couple of hours....

I think you've got the right idea.

That said, do your best to make sure the bike fits you.  If it doesn't, you may find youself absolutely hating the sport based on your bike!

I just saw this thread, so let me add my .02 cents if it's not late.

FIT is the most important criteria, above al else.

If either bike cannot fit you, and presumably at least one of them is not in your area on Craigslist, therefore you cannot know for sure ,they are possibly worthless to you.

I've passed on opportunites to buy some amazing frames at fire sale prices this year as they were all too big. I did finf a 51 cm tri bike for sale on Craigslist, then go to my local shop and ride a 51 cm bike from the same manufacturer to confirm the general fit. I bought the bike, and still spent several hours with a pro fitter to get the bike dialed in (totally worth 5x what I paid).

Good luck.

sranney

Yep - just bought. The guy who had it before me was just about the same height as me. I sat on it - seemed to fit - reach seemed ok and overall height I just clear it(this part may be a concern but the rest seemed good enough - I did read there needs to be some clearance between the frame and your crotch - for the $ I didnt want to over analyze.)

In general I hope I made the right decision -we'll see as I train and progress and eventually race in my first tri this summer.

To all:

Thanks for the feedback now I am off to the LBS to have it cleaned up and fine tuned....

Still need an indoor trainer, shorts and eventually a helmet...

Any other advice is welcome
