Is there a conditioning window going from road bike to tri bike?

I found that the biggest conditioning issue for me was getting my neck to the point at which I could keep facing forward. Making sure your lower back is flexible enough to maintaing the aero position for a while will be necessary as well.

You could start on lower back flexibility now with some stretching. Your neck may ache for a bit, but after a while, it'll be no problem. I think the window of adaptation will be different for everybody.

Thanks for all the advice, guys (and misscullen). Here's another related question:

If you don't currently, start riding your road bike while in the drops. This helped me develop the needed flexibility.
