Hello, I'm definitely knew to this whole deal. I have always wanted to run an Iron Man, and finally decided to start setting myself up for it. I want to run the Full Iron Man in Zurich next June. I'm in good shape, I've never trained for anything like this, but I do physical training betwen 3-6 times a week normally running between 3-10 miles, and other forms of exercise. I've never done much with cycling or swimming. Any advice on where to start would be extremely helpful.

Welcome!!!  You've set a lofty goal for yourself...I'm sure you'll be able to achieve it, with a plan and consistency.  It'll be fun to watch your progresss...best of luck!

And as an aside, there's another BT'er running IM Switzerland in '07 - stake.

I'm getting myself a membership thingy to BT for Christmas so I can get my grubby hands on the detailed training plans! I'd suggest trying the same!

Welcome to BT, by the way ... have fun!

Welcome.  I'm the other guy who will be in Zurich on June 24th.  Please not that Rick apparently can't spell my name- it's Stake with a capital "S"   Feel free to check out my logs for my training plans to give you an idea of where you might want to start. They essentially start the first week in Dec and lead up to race day.  Also, the "Triathlete's Training Bible" and "Going Long" both by  Joel Friel are great references.  Feel free to PM me with any questions.  See you at the start line...
