i have an tentative interview on friday for an awesome seasonal part time job. it probably won't work out, since the hours prolly won't work with our family schedule, but still. bill and i will be discussing it tonight and figuring out the logistics. anyway, the job is...

delivering 300 lbs of coffee...by bike...in the snow

That sounds awesome. I used to know a guy who did repair work and didn't have a van, and carried all his tools around on a trailer. On a fixed gear. Year round in Boston, with studded tires when it got icey. He was unreal.

As a weird side thought, do they insulate the beans at all? Coffee beans lose some of their oils or something when they get frozen, or at least that's what I've been told by coffee snobs.

I don't get it..... Does the delivery person have to use a bike? If so, why don't they at least provide tires? Sounds like a good way to screw the worker.
