Subject: RE: Swim Paddles? There are several different types of paddles and there are also swim gloves. There are freestyler hand paddles which are designed to help elbow placement, hand position, extension of the hand - these paddles are not for strength or resistance type training.
There are sculling finger paddles they are specifically designed to help your forearm muscle development.
Swim gloves add resistance to your workout. Fistgloves are desgined to improve techinique teaching you how to "feel the water".
All of the above are tools to help improve your technique and add an additional element to your swim workout. I use paddles and gloves occasional along with fins - drills are a good way to break up a swim workout and focus on a particular technique.....besides I need all the swim help I can get.
